Description

“I Can” Posters & Student Checklists 3rd Grade NGSSS, LAFS & MAFS Florida Standards Bundle”

This is a complete set of 3rd grade “I Can” posters and student checklists for the 4 core subjects: ELA, math, science, and social studies. The posters match the Florida NGSSS, MAFS and LAFS standards. The standards are rewritten in student-friendly “I Can” statements. Use these in your classroom to “frame” the lesson. Show the student what they will be learning during the lesson.

The posters are designed simply in order to appeal to older students. The statement is the focal point of each poster.

I recommend printing these on cardstock and laminating them in order to extend lifespan.

These files were created so that students could take ownership of their own learning and track their progress. These checklists summarize the new Florida standards in kid-friendly “I can” statements.

In our school, we are using student data folders. If you have these folders, you could add these pages for each student. If you do not, you could either staple these pages together to make a booklet – a cover page is included – or place them inside a pronged folder.

I have four columns for each standard. In these columns students put the date and their assessment of where they are for each standard. (B for beginner, I for intermediate, and M for master.) You can have students revisit the standards so they can reassess themselves. I do goal setting at the beginning of every quarter, so I am going to have students look at these standards when we do that.

My teammate has students mark off each standard as it is taught, so that is another way to have students assess their progress.
